SPEAK TO US

The large town of Arusha is the gateway to parks on Tanzania’s northern safari circuit, and the jumping off point for the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Mount Kilimanjaro. Well-connected both domestically and internationally, a stopover in Arusha gives you the chance to spend the night on a coffee plantation, a relaxing way to begin or end your safari holiday in Tanzania.

About Arusha

Located on the eastern side of the Great Rift Valley below the dramatic slopes of Mount Meru, Arusha’s proximity to the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park means it is often used as a start or end point for a safari in northern Tanzania. The region is famous in its own right for coffee production, because sitting at roughly 1,300 metres above sea level and near the line of the equator, conditions here are ideal for growing coffee.

International flights into northern Tanzania often arrive into Mount Kilimanjaro airport which is around 1.5 hours by road from Arusha. Due to typical arrival times into Kilimanjaro, a night in Arusha before embarking on your safari is sometimes necessary.

Alternatively, for those arriving from within Africa, a number of direct flights connect Arusha with larger African hubs such as Nairobi. Travelling onwards after your safari from Arusha, there are flights to Nairobi, Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar among others all departing on a daily basis.
