There are two dry seasons in Uganda, running between June and August, and also from December to February. This is the best time for wildlife sightings, including gorilla treks and chimpanzee encounters when the rainforest hikes are easier underfoot.
The wettest season in Uganda is during April and May, and you should expect short torrential downpours that revitalise the landscapes and turn experiences into adventures. Travel can be trickier in the parks where localised flooding and muddy tracks provide challenges. It also rains between September and November, though usually not as heavily as earlier in the year.
