The 500 km stretch of coastline in southern Mozambique is a unique region comprising lakes, estuaries and giant forest-covered sand dunes. There is an abundance of activities to enjoy in this area of Mozambique, whether you’re simply looking to relax on the sands of an idyllic beach, cast out for some game fishing, dive incredible tropical reefs or explore nature reserves in a 4×4. Tailor-made holidays to Mozambique’s Lagoon Coast are a popular add-on to safaris in South Africa.

About the Lagoon Coast

The Lagoon Coast’s proximity to Maputo’s international airport and the city itself mean that the area is easily explored with a hire car or with arranged excursions from Maputo. There are a number of exciting diving locations along the coastline such as Inhambane and Tofo. The exceptional marine life of Paindane’s incredible Lighthouse Reef is a must for keen divers.
